Chris Barker

Chris Barker, Customer Accounts Director at NCB Hazcheck, has acquired over 30 years’ experience in UK logistics and short-sea shipping operations, occupying a variety of shore-based roles including ship’s agent, port office manager and projects manager. Joining NCB in 2019 from CMA-CGM, with a primary responsibility to further the group’s not-for-profit mission of Safety of Life and Cargo at Sea by supporting customers in seamlessly integrating NCB’s Hazcheck DG compliance systems into their digital processes.

As Integration Lead for Hazcheck Detect, NCB’s cutting-edge dangerous goods cargo screening solution, Chris plays a crucial role in ensuring the alignment of industry libraries, leading industry workgroup meetings and workshops to ensure a consistent and standardized approach to dangerous goods cargo screening.

Chris is a member of CINS, Cargo Incident Notification System Network, and ICHCA DG Working Group.
